I don't know about you guys, but I cannot get rid of any leftover piece from my Scripts kits. The members of the design team have been chatting about this, and we came up with an idea for us to pull out those extra kits and use up our Scripts Scraps!

I usually keep my leftover kit pieces in the bags that they come in, but the other night I went through them all and combined it all into one big bag. This way, next time I sit down and scrap, I can just grab the whole bag vs. pulling out multiple baggies.

We want to challenge you to use up some of your Scripts Scraps! Pull out those older kits, put them to good work, and make a layout (or two!) using at least 75% product from your Scripts kits. Upload your layout to your place of choice (blog, Scrap Etc. gallery, flickr, etc.) and then come back here and post a direct link to it in the comments. Each layout/project you complete will put your name into a drawing for a fun prize from Lucy!

Enter your layout/project by Monday, July 6, 2009 to be eligible for this prize. :)

Make sure to keep checking back every Monday for fun new challenges and ideas from the design team!

**Now, I know what you are thinking?! I am NOT a runner!
You don't have to be! But, here's what we ARE going to do.

Registration opens for Running with Scissors on June 10th. That day, once you are registered, you can begin your 16 week training plan. You can train as aggressive, or non-aggressive as you would like.

We will all train together, leading up to the big day (October 10) and then we will all run or walk together! Yes, that's right. How fun! Can you imagine us....all of us together, in our Running with Scissors tshirts, charging the streets together, not only accomplishing this goal for ourselves, but also partnering with the Susan G. Komen foundation! How exciting! I get chills everytime I think about it!!

And, if you are planning to be a walker, don't worry, you won't be alone, there will be a team of walkers there too!!! Hey, maybe your shirt could say "Walking with Scissors!" Ok, ok.

And, if you don't want to do either, you can come down, and cheer the rest of us on...or don't worry, there will be a Team Member in the crop room, so you can just keep on cropping!

But, the best part about it is this: the teachers, especially Donna Downey and Gretchen McElveen are ready to help you accomplish this goal! They have BIG, I mean, BIG
plans for YOU!

If you have any questions, you can email us:
scrapetcevents@gmail.com

Until then, get your running shoes ready!!! The fun begins when registration opens, June 10th!

Oh how I love this kit! It came together so easily! I think we have added quite a few pieces of paper, a little cardstock, some embellies that you can't find in any other kit!! Oh and the October Afternoon is to die for. I love this company!! Ki, American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin and have I mentioned we are bringing fabric back? Yeah! So fun to go to different places and add those special touches, like tulle....lots of it and pink carnival tickets!

The add on has more cardstock and a piece of Jenni Bowlin die cut paper. Sassafras felties are one of the must have embellishments! This summer collection will go with everything! The 7 gypsies naked pizza box is a super fun project piece. It can house a little album with all of the summers BEST photos!
$16.99

We added a little "just paper" add on this month. Since there is no store to shop at anymore. We thought you could just buy directly from us another of each of the adorable papers in this kit!! Most of them have adorable "backsides"! I think I stole that from Cosmo Cricket. They always have the cutest names for things! This kit is $7.99I printed out pictures tonight. I hope to get some scrapping done tomorrow.
If not, there will be plenty of time at the beach next week!

That last post was a little depressing, huh? Sorry about all that! Believe me, there are so many good things to come. You will forget all about that silly little store! :) jk

I have to admit I was pretty bummed today. I sent my little chickies to school for the last day. Went to Pilates. Went to the CHAMPIONSHIP kickball game....Emma's class won 24-3. Hello, that was awesome! Hold on, I'll get to the bummer part in a second. Sounds great so far!!

Yes, well, I finally made it to the store and around lunch time there were LOTS of people in there. I thought it was going to be a super busy day. Then after about 2:00 only a few trickled in and out. I sat at my little table in the back and kinda felt lost! I didn't really know what to do with myself. I had this wierd feeling that something wasn't right. I tried to get up and clean off a table, consolidate the paper racks, account for everything that wasn't for sale.....just busy work. I finally figured out that I was a little sad. I have loved this store just like everyone else! It really was a happy place with all the pretty things and fun people coming in being creative. It will be sad not to have a place to walk in and find "pretty paper".  I know, I've been saying that Scripts will make up for it and those fabulous  events will have an onsite store. But, it is still sad.  Wait, is this depressing, too?

Ok, I will share something great that happened before I left my house this morning. I was trying to get my kids out the door. They were trying to talk me into checking them out early or coming to eat lunch with them. I told them that today was the very last day I would be working in the store and...no lie....they both jumped off the ground with their hands in the air and SCREAMED!! They were so excited. People...this is the right decision for me! I am so glad I will get to hang out with those two crazy kids every day...well, except for while they are at the beach next week with Connor's Mom  and then that week they will be in Tennessee with my Mom and VBS and summer camps and...well, you get the picture. I will be there when and if they need me!

I am so thankful for all the things I have learned from owning my own "cute shop". I always wanted to do that. Well, now I have! Maybe one day when I win the lottery, I will do it again! I do not regret one minute of it. Honestly, I don't!! I have made many, many new friends and have had many experiences that will shape my future! It was a blessing.

So, today B and I were on the phone brainstorming about that "October Event". We talked and talked and talked. I went to my dance lessons and then we talked and talked some more. There are some super exciting things happening and YOU will find out about them......well, SOON!!!

Have a great weekend!! I'm heading to Smith Lake. Hopefully, far away from that rain......pretty thankful I'm not going to the beach! ;)

Well, not really to Scrap ETC as a whole, but to the brick and mortar building on Valleydale Road.

Tomorrow will be the last day for business!

I know this is so sad for so many people. I truly hate for the most spectacular store to close, but I can't keep it open anymore. I really have struggled with this decision for the last 6 months. If I am honest, I struggled with it from the beginning.  I just need to do this for my family. They need me at home. School's out for summer! I need to hang with my little ones.  I am going to work so hard on the kit club, Scripts. It will change in so many ways and I think you will see the difference! I am enlisting my current designers....maybe looking for new ones in the future.....to help me and make Scripts THE kit club for you! I would love to hear any of your comments or suggestions.

I can't wait for the October Event! I know we keep calling it that, but there are a few things we need to finalize before we let the name of it out! It's gonna be cUTe! Brittney and I had a little meeting this morning and things are running as planned. We have a little more running around before we can give out the info. I know as soon as you hear the news you will run to sign up!

So come see me tomorrow! I will be there from 11am-5pm.

75% off paper and 50% off embellishments.

$5 2-up photo albums.

$30 grid wall.
